It was in the year 1936 that Sri. Jamanadas Adukia, Sri. Gokaldas Ranchoddas and Sri. Lavji Meghji, along with few other like -minded and large-hearted local businessmen decided to take a small step forward and founded The Kandivli Education Society (KES) with a noble and patriotic objective of providing education in vernacular medium to the children from Gujarati families settled in this part the Bombay province.

An ICSE Education

 

KES International School is a co – educational school situated in Kandivali, West – Mumbai. The school proposes to offer the ICSE curriculum thus providing quality education and inculcating a quest for knowledge, skills, values and ethical living.

The curriculum of the school shall aim to provide exposure to different ideologies to develop an acceptance of diversity and respect for all. To aid holistic development in children, the school provides an infrastructure that challenges their body and mind to exceed one’s expectations.

Pre - Primary

The Pre-Primary Programme incorporates all elements of academic interests that cater to the challenging requirements of present-day educational needs. To prepare the future generation of learners to meet the challenges of an ever-advancing knowledge-based society and a dynamically changing environment, it is imperative that children are equipped with a repertoire of skills and a positive attitude with a sensitized perspective to become global citizens. It is a well-known fact that a strong foundation in the preparatory classes play a vital role in forging life-long learning competencies. The curriculum aims to provide a holistic and broad-based education, considering all aspects of child behaviour, to equip them to meet the challenges in life and to develop their potential for lifelong learning.

Primary

The Primary School (Class 1 to 5) program lays emphasis on developing the ability to question, to analyze, to investigate, to think critically, to solve problems and to interact effectively with others.

The theme-based curriculum facilitates in addressing the issues related to the area under study in a holistic manner. Our scholastic program is designed in a sequential arrangement of learning experiences that will provide a spiral of cumulative learning.

The multilingual program will help a child to connect learning with the outside world and make him a better communicator.

Upper Primary

The curriculum for Upper Primary (Class 6 to 8) covers English, Hindi / Gujarati (Second Language), Marathi, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology (under Science), History & Civics, Geography, Physical Education Computer Studies and Arts Education. Subject teachers lead students in learning and discussing abstract concepts in each subject. Experiential learning within each subject and explorations of relations among different subjects, shall be encouraged and emphasized for integrated learning of concepts.

Educational excursions, field trips, inter-house activities & competitions and research-based projects shall serve to foster holistic development by promoting physical and psychological well-being while also enhancing cognitive abilities.

Secondary

Subject teachers shall use innovative methods to achieve greater flexibility and exposure to and enjoyment of a wider range of subjects, including the arts, sciences, humanities, languages, sports, and vocational subjects.

Community service, educational excursions, inter-house activities & competitions, and research-based projects shall serve to foster holistic development by promoting physical and psychological well-being while also enhancing cognitive abilities of the learners.

Beyond Academics

The Secondary School (Class 9 & 10) will comprise of two years of multidisciplinary study, increased flexibility, and choice of subjects to study, including subjects in physical education, the arts and crafts and vocational skills – so that students can design their own paths of study and life plans.
